I performed my M.S. My non-thesis project on “An overview of Alzheimer’s Disease: Prevention and Treatment”. After graduating from USF, I’ve been studying and working on Neurodegenerative disease (focused on Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease) at Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute. I studied the characteristics of a variety of toxic proteins that can cause neurological injury in human brains. I also tested the features of different antibodies on human brain tissue to optimize the results in IHC, Western Blot, and ELISA. In Dr. Thinakaran’s lab, my major responsibilities are performing genotyping and managing the mouse colony. I also assist post-docs to accomplish their projects by performing Western Blot, IHC, IP injection, brain tissue preparation, and other techniques.
